You’ll cover all the vital aspects of social care, including health and safety, communication, and equality and diversity. You’ll then dive deeper into anatomy and physiology, life stages development, as well as diet and nutrition, in order to give you a wider understanding of the core factors at play in this industry.

As part of the course, you’ll also take part in a work placement to provide you with practical first-hand experience of health and social care. Not only will this help you develop relevant knowledge for the course, it will also give you essential skills to help you secure a good job in the future.

You’ll need to have at least 4 GCSEs in total at grade C or above, including both English and Maths, if you’d like to enroll on this course. Alternatively, if you’re advancing from a previous Level 2 course, you should have a Merit grade in Health and Social Care.

How will I be assessed?
A large part of this course will be assessed via coursework, which will include a combination of practical assessments, essays and presentations. You will also need to conduct 100 hours of placement in a health and social care setting each year.
